Job Title: Financial Controller

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer

Brennan Recruitment and Staffing Ltd is delighted to partner with one of Ireland’s leading engineering firms, who are celebrating over 50 years in Business this year.

This company provides numerous engineering services including installation, maintenance and commissioning while always looking to provide innovative and bespoke solutions to their clients.

We are now recruiting for a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will play a key role in orchestrating and ensuring the smooth running of the finance functions.

The successful applicant will lead the finance team and be responsible for the finance function within the business. This person will be responsible for the financial and management accounting systems with a focus on providing timely analysis to drive business growth and profitability. This will require a particular focus on margin analysis.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the senior leadership team to maximise the market opportunities and create efficiencies. The right person will be able to grow in this role as the business continues to expand and evolve its market offering.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and managing the finance systems and team with a high-performance ethos, to deliver timely analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • This will require you to understand the business, the metrics and KPIs particular to the engineering industry and how to maintain a sustainable business.
  • Responsibility for the finance function within the business to include forecasting and budgets, cost analysis, cashflow management, accounts systems and procedures, revenue compliance, debtor and creditor management, payroll preparation.
  • Support the senior leadership team with the strategic development and expansion, by working cross-functionally to gather information and insights on trends happening within our sectors.
  • Link information and insights to offer informed guidance of financial implications and opportunities for efficiencies.

 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Financial Controller.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills understanding the impact of decisions on cashflow and profitability.
  • Preferable experience working with senior management teams to strategically develop business.
  • Monitor and implement key financial metrics, the relevance of these to risk, opportunity, profitability, and value creation.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
